Angel and drum

This angel is about a feeling I get when I hear kettledrums and flutes playing. For whatever reason I get a transcendent feeling and wanted to convey some of it in paint. I hear a very specific music which was going through my head for over 15 years before I painted this. The face type in this painting is a personal archetype of mine that I repeat in my sketchbook and was a long time coming to an actual painting.
