Laura standing
48"H
x 32"W
This was completed in a 6 hour model session. I thought the pose was a little static so I wanted to make sure I caught all the lively qualities that I saw in the gesture and in her curves. I believe I succeeded and then she feels like she's in motion or getting ready to move. Charcoal on grey paper with white highlights.

Oil wash drawing of Robert Fortunato
24"H
x 12"W
This is an oil wash drawing of a regular model to the New Jersey art scene. I wanted to make a quality painting but only had a couple of sittings with him. Instead of going into full color I thought it would be more effective to make a wash drawing and add just a little white at the end to add a little coolness to the otherwise very warm palette. The 12 x 24 size is one of my favorites as well as the red I used in the painting- transparent oxide red. It looks good on its own and requires very little mixing.
