for information about staying at the historic Stony Ridge Farm go to: http://www.buckscountyartworkshops.com/rates.htm Class will focus on getting a good start and then finishing a figure with realistic shading and flesh tones. Anatomy, light and shadow, and how to mix flesh tones on your palette will be covered as well as expressive brushwork. Class will work from basic wash drawing to thicker layers of paint to more delicate finishing layers. The techniques will apply equally to tighter realistic paintings as well as to looser more "brushy" styles. Some previous drawing or painting experience is recommended
Study of Dan, oil on canvas, 20 x 36", from live model This is a fabulous opportunity to work in an historic Bucks county location. The Stone Ridge Farm is a refurbished farm that used to belong to no less than the Pulitzer prize winning writer Pearl S. Buck. It has maintained its old feeling while being modernized into a lovely working studio and lodging. Part of the tuition pays for a lunch every day in the Inn's elegant dining room.
